What? 'S going on here.

Some startling or annoying or outrageous act gives rise to the question. It sometimes get followed or preceded by "I don't believe it" or "How could they do that?" And like any conversation the trails will change, mutate, become something else. Which could also give rise to the question which is also the answer: What? 'S going on here.

New post - The welfare factory (definitely not corporate welfare).

So, the straight scoop is that in the state of Oregon, management has compared their operations strategy to Toyota's management strategy. Cars, People. I ask you. While the cost of the Iraq war is in the hundreds of billions, who's paying for the little people, the poor people, the people who need help just to survive in America? They don't even own bootstraps, let alone being able to lift themselves up by them. Easy to say for someone who has never been there.

And say if you're against welfare, does that include the corporate kind? The Welfare Factory thinks they cut costs by hiring corporate types. Who never worked for a human service in their lives.

Don't usually want to rant, but that's my latest.

Ahem ... the laws of the road are laws.

That goes without saying right? And people who break laws are criminals by definition.

I was listening to this guy the other day talking about how criminals should be locked up for good and how rehabilitation was a waste of time.

Now, I could be wrong about this, but I believe this was the same guy who complained about getting a ticket for going 35 mph in a 25 mph residential area. After all it was a school day.

the High cost of living

In brief - Things cost more than Human Beings. The price of Things rise and the price paid to improve Human Beings' lives goes down. Why is that?

Too thin?

I overheard the other day the remark, "there's no such thing as too thin or too much money." Excuse me? I have two short responses to that. Try anorexia and 400.00 for a beach towel? 427.00 is the cash grant for a single mom with a child for a month in the state of Oregon. Now how would that money have been better spent?
(which money, you ask, the money for the mom or for the beach towel? Your response will be graded for character.)

And why is it so many actresses are starting to look like boys in disguise, boys with breasts no less?

Just another What?'s going on here.
